Kantara 3 Title Revealed? Get Ready for the Most Epic Chapter Yet

Kantara 3: A Legend – Chapter 2 Unleashed: What to Expect from the Next Installment

There is good news for fans of Kantara! With the release of Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1 on October 2, the creators have officially announced that there will be a third part in the making. As per Bollywood Hungama, the second installment in the franchise will be called Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 2, a title announced at the conclusion of Chapter 1 itself.

In summary, Kantara (2022) took place in 1990 and was a huge success for its grounded storytelling and spiritual undertones. But it was eventually made known by director and lead actor Rishab Shetty that the film audiences initially saw was actually Part 2 of the film. In 2023, Shetty had also stated that the future film would be a prequel, transporting people back into the past to seek out the beginnings of the mythos. “What you have seen is actually Part 2. Part 1 will come next year,” he revealed on the 100-day success celebration of the film.

Kantara: Chapter 1, currently running in theatres, takes place during the Kadamba dynasty, more than a thousand years prior to the times of the original movie. The Kadambas were ruling princes in Karnataka, famous for their patronage of art, culture, and temple architecture—thus, the backdrop for the film is rich and ripe for storytelling.

While Chapter 1 has had a divided critical reception, it has been applauded for its sweeping scale and visualisation. News18 Showsha graded it 3.5 stars, terming it a “visual treat” with a thrilling second half. “Is it National Award-worthy? Perhaps not. But it’s still a must-watch for its immersive storytelling,” the review added.

With Kantara: Chapter 2 officially in the making, fans can anticipate the sequel—and eventual conclusion—of this epic on-screen saga that weaves together folklore, history, and spirituality.
