The Devil Wears Prada fans can rejoice as Emily Blunt and Anne Hathaway reunite on the set of the eagerly awaited sequel. The two actresses were seen shooting in Milan, Italy, on Monday, October 6, where they embraced warmly, then burst into laughter during breaks in the filming. Pictures of the reunion were soon all over the social media landscape, setting tongues wagging among fans of the 2006 fashion-world classic.
Anne Hathaway dazzled in maroon leather over a shimmering silver jumpsuit, topping it off with a black hat, shades, black tie, and two-tone heels—a strong revival of her style-forward stint as Andy Sachs. Emily Blunt went effortless chic in a bomber jacket, print hooded top, olive corset, and gray trousers. The pair’s chemistry was as charged as ever, reminding audiences why their characters were such iconic players in the first film.
Adding to the commotion, Meryl Streep was recently spotted in full Miranda Priestly regalia, at the Dolce & Gabbana fashion show in Milan. In an in-the-moment meta moment that delighted fashion and film fans in equal measure, Streep bumped into no other than Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour—the very muse behind her character. Vogue subsequently posted a viral Instagram video of the backstage meeting, captioned, “Can you please spell Gabbana? Of course they can.”
Stanley Tucci, reprising Runway’s favorite art director Nigel, also attended the fashion show, seen sitting front row and later peeking backstage at Wintour. His cameo further validated the return of the original cast and heightened fan expectation for the sequel.
Scheduled to open in theaters globally on May 1, 2026, the sequel has Miranda Priestly continuing to reign at Runway magazine, grappling with the harsh realities of a fast-changing digital media world. Emily Blunt’s character, no longer frazzled assistant to the terrorizing editor-in-chief, is now an über-exec at a high-end fashion conglomerate—one that has ad clout over Runway. This transition establishes a great new power dynamic between the formerly menacing editor-in-chief and her former underling.

With the original cast back on board and a new story addressing the contemporary world of fashion, the sequel is already looking every bit as chic and sassy as the first one.
