Dua Lipa thrilled hundreds of fans with a surprise performance at MISTR’s first-ever National PrEP Day celebration, held at The Abbey in West Hollywood on Thursday, October 9. The Grammy-winning singer lit up the stage as the secret guest, performing hits like New Rules, Houdini, and Don’t Start Now for a crowd filled with LGBTQ fans and celebrities.
“Let’s have a party!” the 30-year-old pop star shouted to the crowd, dancing the night away to raise awareness for HIV prevention. The event, hosted by Bob the Drag Queen, aimed to promote the use of PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) — a daily pill or bi-annual injection that reduces the risk of HIV transmission by 99%. The celebration capped off a 10-day national campaign that sought to get 10,000 new users started on PrEP by October 10.
According to People, the star-studded evening saw appearances by Cardi B, Demi Lovato, Kim Petras, Matt Bomer, NeNe Leakes, Cynthia Bailey, Tamar Braxton, Tom Daley, Omar Apollo, and more. DJs Diplo, SG Lewis, and Joey with the Mustache kept the energy high, while drag icons like Aquaria, Plastique Tiara, Trinity the Tuck, Symone, and Shea Couleé performed Dua Lipa-inspired routines before joining her on stage.

Following the unforgettable night, Dua took to Instagram to share moments from the performance. Dressed in a striking pink bodysuit, she posed alongside several drag queens and posted highlights from the event. “A night at The Abbey w THE QUEENS!!!!!!” she captioned the post.
The appearance came after four sold-out shows at L.A.’s Kia Forum during her Radical Optimism Tour, where she surprised fans with duets alongside Gwen Stefani and Lionel Richie. Dua will continue her tour through San Francisco and Seattle in October before heading to South America, wrapping up in December.
