“Disrespectful and Cruel”: Hema Malini Slams Media Over False Reports on Dharmendra’s Death Rumors

LEGAL ACTION LOADING: Hema Malini Takes on Media Over Rumors

Actress-turned-politician Hema Malini has strongly refuted rumours about her husband, veteran actor Dharmendra’s death, calling the reports “irresponsible” and “disrespectful.” On Tuesday morning, she took to her official X (formerly Twitter) handle to clarify that the actor is recovering and urged media outlets to verify information before spreading false news.

“What is happening is unforgivable! How can responsible channels spread false news about a person who is responding to treatment and is recovering? This is being extremely disrespectful and irresponsible. Please give due respect to the family and its need for privacy,” Hema Malini wrote, condemning the circulation of misleading reports.

Earlier in the day, the couple’s daughter Esha Deol also issued a statement on Instagram, confirming that her father is “stable and recovering.” She requested the media and fans to refrain from speculating about his health. “The media seems to be in overdrive and spreading false news. My father is stable and recovering. We request everyone to give our family privacy. Thank you for the prayers for papa’s speedy recovery,” Esha wrote.

Dharmendra’s health has been a topic of concern over the past several days after he was hospitalised on November 1 due to breathlessness. Following his admission, several unverified reports claimed the actor had been shifted to the ICU and was on life support. However, these claims were quickly dismissed by Sunny Deol’s team, who assured fans that the veteran star is doing well.

“Mr Dharmendra is stable and under observation. Further comments and updates will be shared as available. Request everyone to pray for his speedy recovery and respect the family’s right to privacy,” the team’s statement read.

Both Hema Malini and Esha Deol have appealed to the public to trust only official updates and avoid spreading rumours.
