Global superstar Jennifer Lopez marked a deeply emotional milestone as her twins, Max and Emme, celebrated their 18th birthday on February 22. To honour the special day, the 56-year-old icon shared a heartfelt message on social media, reflecting on the beautiful journey she has shared with her children.
Taking to Instagram, Lopez posted a nostalgic video that captured Max and Emme’s transformation from newborns to young adults. Set to the song 18 by One Direction, the montage featured intimate moments from Lopez’s early days as a mother, along with candid clips of the twins growing up over the years.
Alongside the video, Lopez opened up about the magical night they were born.
“You were born in the middle of the night, in the midst of the biggest, most beautiful snowstorm New York had seen in years,” she wrote. She recalled looking out of the car window at the snow-covered streets just moments before giving birth, describing the night as one filled with wonder.
“It was as if God was making sure you would enter a world full of pure magic,” she shared, adding that she always felt their lives would be special.
Reflecting on their infancy, Lopez described holding them as a life-changing moment.
“When I would hold you as infants, I honestly felt as if I were holding two angels sent straight from heaven,” she wrote, emphasizing how motherhood transformed her world forever.
Now that Max and Emme have officially entered adulthood, Lopez expressed her pride in the kind individuals they have become.
“I cannot believe you are now 18 years old,” she wrote. “You are both so kind-hearted, generous, and loving.”
Fondly calling them her “coconuts,” Lopez highlighted the deep bond they share.
“It has always been the three of us,” she said, promising that no matter how grown they become, their connection will remain strong.
She ended her tribute with a touching message: “Always remember, Lulu, you are my sunshine… and Max, you’re amazing just the way you are. Happy 18th Birthday, my wonder twins!”
Lopez welcomed Max and Emme in February 2008 on Long Island with her then-husband Marc Anthony. The couple married in 2004 and separated in 2014, after which Lopez retained primary custody of the twins.
Even as they step into adulthood, Lopez’s message made one thing clear — her love for them remains timeless.
