Tara Sutaria spoke about her experience working on Toxic at Cannes and praised Yash and director Geetu Mohandas for the film’s atmosphere.

Tara Sutaria is currently attending the Cannes Film Festival, where she recently spoke about her experience working on the upcoming action thriller Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups starring Yash. During a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India, Tara described the film as one of the most creatively satisfying experiences of her career so far. The actress said she values working in environments that feel respectful, meaningful and positive.

Talking about the project, Tara said, “Doing Toxic to me is so satisfactory, it’s so pleasing.” She further added, “I also just want to be on sets that make me feel good, that are led well with integrity and with purpose and intention, and we have all of these things with Geetu Mohandas and with Yash.”

Tara also spoke emotionally about working with filmmaker Geetu Mohandas. According to the actress, being directed by a woman brought a different kind of atmosphere and energy to the set.

Sharing her thoughts, she said, “It has been like the joy of my life. To work with Geetu and to be led by a woman, it’s a world of difference on set.”

When asked about her role in the film, Tara avoided revealing too many details but hinted that her character Rebecca has an interesting personality. She said, “She’s fascinating,” before adding, “All of the women in this film are fascinating.”

The actress also praised Yash for his behaviour both on and off screen. Speaking about the film’s cast, Tara said she enjoyed working alongside several women actors from different backgrounds and stages of their careers.

“It has also been really interesting to see so many women come together alongside Yash. He has been incredible both as a human being and as a co-star,” she shared.

Talking further about the experience, Tara added, “To see all of us women come together at different ages and stages of our lives, careers, all of it, and really celebrate each scene… when we are together, I just sit and observe because it is so rare to do that and to experience another. It’s been really the joy of my life.”

Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups is expected to present a different style of action cinema by combining emotional storytelling with large scale action. Along with Yash and Tara Sutaria, the film also stars Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi and Rukmini Vasanth in important roles.
