Trisha Krishnan has received a warm response from fans after sharing a collection of personal moments from what she described as her “magical May” on social media. The actress, who is currently enjoying the success of Karuppu, posted several photos from the past month and reflected on memories that she said would stay with her for a long time.
Sharing the pictures on Instagram, Trisha wrote, “A few more from Magical May I’ll be smiling about for a long time to come.” The post quickly attracted attention from fans, many of whom filled the comments section with messages of appreciation and heart emojis. One fan wrote, “Soft curls and sleepy eyes The kind of eyes I easily get lost in.” Another commented, “Unforgettable and most luckiest may of the year.”
The social media update comes at a time when Karuppu continues to perform strongly at the box office. The film has reportedly crossed the Rs 300 crore mark worldwide, making it one of the biggest commercial successes associated with Trisha in recent years. The achievement has also helped the film move ahead of Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna’s 2023 release Varisu, which earned Rs 297.55 crore during its theatrical run.
Director RJ Balaji recently confirmed the latest box office milestone through a social media post. Sharing the film’s updated earnings, he wrote, “#Karuppu 300* not out (fire emojis) @Suriya_offl (heart emojis).” The post celebrated the film’s continued success and growing audience support.
Although Karuppu has crossed the lifetime collection of Varisu, it still has another benchmark ahead. Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi’s 2024 film Amaran remains ahead with a reported lifetime worldwide collection of Rs 333.67 crore.
Meanwhile, RJ Balaji also made headlines after revealing that he had originally approached Vijay with the script before offering the project to Suriya. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter India, the director explained, “I narrated this film first to Vijay sir. This was supposed to be his last film (before his full-fledged political entry). We had two or three meetings, and he heard the script. Since it was supposed to be his last film, there were a lot of things that he had to consider. He had another option with H Vinoth (director of Jana Nayagan). He then asked me if he could inform me in a week. He then called me and mentioned certain reasons (to turn down the project), which I felt were justified.”
Balaji added, “I replied, ‘Sir, I absolutely respect your decision.’ By then, I had narrated two scripts to him. I had previously narrated another film. Both times, I narrated the subjects to him because he asked me if I had something for him. I felt that showed his great respect for my work and, probably, my creativity.”
With Karuppu crossing Rs 300 crore worldwide and Trisha continuing to receive strong support from fans, the film remains one of the most talked about releases in recent weeks.
