For many fans, Bobby Deol is enjoying one of the strongest phases of his career. After winning hearts with Aashram and grabbing attention with his performances in Animal and The B**ds of Bollywood, the actor has once again become a fan favourite. However, behind this successful comeback lies a difficult chapter that Bobby recently spoke about openly.
In a candid conversation with Rajat Sharma on Aap Ki Adalat, Bobby reflected on the years when his career had slowed down and film offers had almost stopped coming. The actor admitted that the lack of work affected him deeply and pushed him into a period of self doubt and sadness.
Bobby shared that when people face failures, they often begin to feel sorry for themselves. He said he went through a similar phase where he felt unwanted and believed his career was over. To escape those feelings, he turned to alcohol and eventually became addicted to it.
The actor revealed that his wife, Tanya Deol, played the biggest role in helping him survive that difficult period. Bobby said that without her support, he would not be where he is today. While he was struggling, Tanya took responsibility for the family and managed the household expenses. She continued working and supported everyone at home during those challenging years.
Bobby also spoke about the moment that changed his mindset. He said his children started asking why he was always sitting at home while their mother went to work every day. Their questions made him realise that he needed to take control of his life and start working on himself again.
Addressing old rumours about problems in his marriage, Bobby dismissed claims that Tanya planned to leave him. He said she never walked away from him despite his struggles. Although she often warned him that he needed to stop drinking, she remained by his side and continued supporting him through the toughest times.
The actor also admitted that alcohol was not his only weakness. He revealed that he had become addicted to online shopping as well. Tanya would often show him his shopping bills the next day and make him realise how much money he was spending unnecessarily.
Today, Bobby is focused on his flourishing career. He is currently promoting his upcoming film Bandar, directed by Anurag Kashyap. He will also be seen in Alpha alongside Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, as well as Jana Nayagan, which is expected to be Vijay’s final film before entering politics.
