Netflix has officially announced two new projects with comedian Samay Raina, putting an end to days of speculation sparked by cryptic social media posts from both the streaming platform and the creator. The collaboration includes the return of India’s Got Latent Season 2 and a brand new comedy special featuring Samay that is currently in development.
India’s Got Latent Season 2 will premiere on June 20, 2026, at 7 pm IST. The show will be released simultaneously on Netflix and YouTube, making it available to audiences on both platforms at the same time. After the launch episode, new episodes will be released every two weeks.
The announcement followed several teaser posts that led fans to speculate about a possible partnership between Netflix and Samay. Social media users closely followed the clues and discussed different theories before the official confirmation arrived on June 19.
After the announcement, Samay Raina addressed concerns from fans who believed the show might no longer be available on YouTube. Sharing a message on Instagram Stories, he wrote, “You all really thought I would leave behind my YouTube community that has stood by me through everything?”
He later clarified the situation and added, “It was just a prank. Latent will be available for FREE on YouTube (with ads) and on Netflix (without ads).”
Thanking his supporters, Samay wrote, “I’m so grateful for all the love you have given me throughout the years. I love you. Let’s break the internet together.”
In another Instagram Story, he shared a photo with Netflix’s red “N” logo and said, “Btw this is really cool of Netflix. I don’t think they have ever made this exception for any other show across the world.”
Speaking about the release strategy, he added, “First time ever, the same show on Netflix and YouTube both. Same time, same duration. Do send a lot of love to @netflix_in.”
Alongside the return of India’s Got Latent, Netflix has also announced a new comedy special featuring Samay Raina. The project will be exclusive to Netflix and is currently under development. More details, including the title, format and release date, are expected to be announced later.
