Television actor Ram Kapoor has sparked a debate after sharing his views on infidelity during an episode of Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa Season 2. His comments on marriage and cheating received mixed reactions from viewers and also led to a disagreement with fellow contestant Akanksha Chamola. The discussion began when the contestants were talking about trust, relationships and the challenges that couples face during marriage. Ram said that long marriages go through many difficult phases and that one mistake should not always lead to the end of a relationship.
Sharing his opinion, Ram said, “If you really love your partner, nothing is a deal breaker. Marriage is hard and it’s a journey. You have to work at your marriage every day. There are highs and lows, good periods and bad periods, strong phases and weak phases. In a bad phase, if by mistake something happens and you can’t live without your partner or your children, then time heals everything and nothing is a deal breaker.”
Akanksha Chamola, who was listening to the conversation, disagreed with Ram’s views. She said that cheating cannot be described as an accident or a mistake because it involves a series of conscious decisions. Responding to him, she said, “But sir, this doesn’t happen by mistake.” Ram replied, “Sometimes it happens by mistake.” Akanksha continued to defend her point of view and said, “It’s not a mistake. You are physically intimate with someone. That’s a process. You have to take somebody’s clothes off, take your clothes off, and then do it. You cannot say it’s a mistake. It’s not like I stabbed you by mistake.” Their exchange quickly became one of the most talked about moments from the episode.
Akanksha has also been in the news recently after revealing that she and her actor husband Gaurav Khanna have been living separately for a year and are in the process of getting divorced. Ram, on the other hand, has been married to actress Gautami Kapoor for more than two decades, and the couple has two children.
Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa Season 2 premiered on June 27 and is hosted by Riteish Deshmukh and Farah Khan. The reality show features 15 celebrities competing over a 6 week run. New episodes stream on Netflix from Saturday to Wednesday at 8 PM.
