Actor Ram Kapoor has once again found himself at the centre of controversy after his behaviour during the first task on the reality show Lock Upp. During the task, Ram repeatedly asked the crew for drinking water. When water was not immediately provided, he stepped into the task area, bringing the activity to a halt. Even after host Riteish Deshmukh warned him that entering the task area could lead to an injury, Ram continued to argue before eventually stepping aside.
Expressing his frustration, Ram said, “I have been asking for water for a long time. You guys are making us do this but not giving water; it’s not right. Send water.” Riteish then explained that it is the responsibility of every contestant to carry their own water bottle during tasks. After hearing the explanation, Ram moved away and allowed the task to continue.
A video of the incident has since gone viral on social media, where many viewers criticised Ram’s behaviour. Several users felt that he overreacted during the task. One social media user commented, “Yeh Salman Khan ke samne kare toh pata chale.” Another wrote, “This was so embarrassing. Jahil lagta hai Ram mujhe, jahilana baatein aur jahilana andaaz baat karne ka… phir he’s like ‘main aisa hoon,’ blah blah.”
The incident comes shortly after reports of another controversy involving Ram during the promotions of his show Mistry. According to reports, he allegedly made inappropriate jokes during interactions with the marketing team and members of the media. It was also reported that, following internal discussions, Ram was removed from the promotional activities of the show, while his co star Mona Singh continued with the remaining interviews alone. There has been no official statement from Ram Kapoor regarding these reported incidents.

The second season of Lock Upp features 14 contestants, two jailers, and one lock up over a period of six weeks. Contestants are required to complete different tasks to earn in game currency, which they use to obtain basic necessities such as food, supplies, and other privileges.
During the episode, both Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh questioned Ram Kapoor over his remarks and behaviour. While several contestants appeared surprised by his response, Ram remained firm in his position. Instead of apologising, he said he had already explained his side and did not believe there was any reason to repeat himself. Contestant Shreya Kalra disagreed with his approach and said that he should accept responsibility for his actions. However, Ram maintained that he would not change himself to satisfy others, making the incident one of the most discussed moments from the latest episode.
