The Odyssey Box Office: Christopher Nolan’s Film Holds Strong In 4th Weekend, Crosses Rs. 200 Crore

The Odyssey added Rs. 13 crore in its 4th weekend, taking its India collection to Rs. 201.75 crore and becoming the 8th Hollywood film to cross Rs. 200 crore.

Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey continued its strong run at the Indian box office during its 4th weekend. The film collected Rs. 5 crore on Sunday, taking its total weekend collection to Rs. 13 crore. This is a 28 per cent drop compared with the 3rd weekend, which shows that the film is still attracting a good number of viewers even after completing several weeks in cinemas.

The Matt Damon starrer has already crossed the Rs. 200 crore mark in India. With a total collection of Rs. 201.75 crore, The Odyssey has become the 8th Hollywood film to achieve this milestone in the Indian market. The film has also created a new record for Christopher Nolan, becoming his highest grossing movie in India.

A major part of the film’s business has come from IMAX screens. More than 2/3rd of its total collection has been generated through IMAX, helping The Odyssey become the biggest IMAX grosser in India. The strong performance of the film on premium screens has played an important role in its overall box office success.

The film is expected to maintain its momentum during the current week. Based on its recent performance, The Odyssey could collect around Rs. 20 crore this week. If the current trend continues, the film is expected to finish its complete theatrical run somewhere between Rs. 215 crore and Rs. 225 crore in India.

Week 1: Rs. 104.50 crore

Week 2: Rs. 55.25 crore

3rd Friday: Rs. 4.00 crore

3rd Saturday: Rs. 7.00 crore

3rd Sunday: Rs. 7.25 crore

3rd Monday: Rs. 2.50 crore

3rd Tuesday: Rs. 3.00 crore

3rd Wednesday: Rs. 2.75 crore

3rd Thursday: Rs. 2.50 crore

4th Friday: Rs. 3.00 crore

4th Saturday: Rs. 5.00 crore

4th Sunday: Rs. 5.00 crore (est.)

Total: Rs. 201.75 crore gross

The film’s performance is particularly notable because it has continued to attract audiences despite being in its 4th weekend. The relatively small drop from the previous weekend suggests that The Odyssey still has enough demand to add a significant amount to its final collection.

With several more days of theatrical business remaining, the film will now aim to move further beyond the Rs. 200 crore mark. Its final collection will depend on how well it performs during the remaining weeks and the impact of new releases on its available screens.
