Thalapathy Vijay’s Jana Nayagan continued to show a steady performance at the Indian box office during its third weekend. The Tamil political action drama collected Rs. 7.25 crore over the weekend, taking its total India collection to Rs. 223.75 crore in 17 days. The film recorded a 73 per cent drop compared with its previous weekend, but it still managed to maintain a reasonable flow of business.
Based on the current trend, Jana Nayagan is expected to collect another Rs. 12 to 14 crore during the ongoing week. If the film manages to reach that figure, its total collection could move closer to the Rs. 230 crore mark. However, the arrival of Vishwanath & Sons next weekend could affect its earnings as the new release is expected to take away some screens and audience attention.
Looking at the current performance, Jana Nayagan could collect another Rs. 5 to 10 crore before completing its theatrical run. This could take its final India collection to around Rs. 240 crore gross.
The film opened strongly in Tamil Nadu and continues to lead its business from the state. Jana Nayagan has collected Rs. 143.75 crore in Tamil Nadu and is now moving towards the Rs. 150 crore mark. Karnataka has contributed Rs. 28.75 crore, while Kerala has added Rs. 16.25 crore.
The film has not performed as strongly in the Telugu speaking markets. It has collected Rs. 13 crore from the APTS region. Other parts of India have contributed around Rs. 22 crore to the overall total.

Worldwide, Jana Nayagan is expected to finish its theatrical run below the Rs. 350 crore mark. Its final numbers will depend on how well it performs during the remaining days and how strongly upcoming releases affect its screen count.
