Julia Roberts brought back memories of her iconic Pretty Woman character Vivian Ward while attending her niece Emma Roberts’ wedding on July 26. The actress, 58, chose a navy and white polka dot dress for the special occasion, and the outfit quickly reminded fans of one of her most memorable looks from the 1990 film.
Julia wore a Self Portrait dress featuring a V neckline and several layers of ruffles. The dress gave her a simple yet elegant look for the outdoor wedding in Sun Valley, Idaho. She completed the outfit with layered necklaces, including a heart shaped pendant and a horseshoe necklace. Her accessories added a personal touch to her wedding guest look.
The setting also brought back memories of Pretty Woman. Emma’s wedding took place on a sunny day surrounded by green grass in Idaho. While the location was very different from the Los Angeles polo match shown in the movie, the outdoor setting had a similar relaxed and elegant feel.
In Pretty Woman, Julia’s character Vivian Ward wears a famous brown polka dot dress during the polo match. She pairs the outfit with a matching hat and white gloves. For Emma’s wedding, Julia did not copy the full outfit, but the polka dot pattern and overall style were enough to remind many people of the classic film.

Julia’s hairstyle added another connection to the movie. Her hair was pulled back into a French knot, similar to the hairstyle worn by Vivian during the polo scene. The combination of the dress, hairstyle and outdoor setting made the look especially familiar to fans of the film.
Photos from the wedding were shared by Brit Elkin, Emma’s longtime stylist and friend. One picture showed Julia holding hands with Kristen Stewart, who attended the celebration in a more casual outfit. Stewart wore a black miniskirt, a cropped short sleeved button down shirt and a black baseball cap.
Elkin was also part of the wedding party as a bridesmaid. She shared a group photo showing Emma surrounded by her close friends, who were dressed in black.
Julia’s appearance added another familiar Hollywood face to Emma Roberts’ wedding celebration, while her outfit quietly paid tribute to one of the most remembered characters of her career.
Julia Roberts was 21 when she shot Pretty Woman. The script she signed — then called 3000 — ended with Vivian dropped on a kerb. The studio turned it into a fairy tale. Which ending would you watch?#hollywoodbox #juliaroberts #aiart #editorialportrait #90sglam pic.twitter.com/7ub58eNyfC
