Lucky Ali recently left his fans emotional after speaking openly about death during a concert. The 67 year old singer was interacting with the audience when he spoke about how life eventually comes to an end. A video from the performance, which Lucky later shared on his Instagram account, has been widely shared online.
While talking to the audience, Lucky acknowledged the love and support he continues to receive from his listeners. He then spoke about the fact that there will eventually come a time when he has to leave. He told the crowd, “I know, I love you all too. But one day, I have to go, na. I am not preparing you for it, but I am prepared, actually,” he said.
Lucky then shared a personal detail about the way he travels. He revealed that he carries his Ihram with him whenever he travels. An Ihram is a simple piece of clothing traditionally worn during certain Islamic religious rituals and can also be used as burial clothing.
Explaining why he keeps it with him, Lucky said, “Whenever I travel, I travel with my Ihram, which is my burial cloth. Jaha bhi marr jau, wahi gaad do mujhe,” he said. His words appeared to deeply affect people attending the concert, as the audience listened quietly to the singer.
One fan also expressed the strong connection that listeners have maintained with Lucky over the years. The fan told him, “It’s been 30 years now; I just didn’t let go of Lucky.” The comment reflected how his music has remained important to many listeners across generations.
Lucky Ali became one of the most recognisable voices of India’s Indipop movement during the 1990s. His solo career took off with O Sanam, which became a major hit after its release on June 3, 1996, as part of his debut solo album Sunoh.
Born to Bollywood actor Mehmood Ali and Mahelaka, also known as Madhu Ali, Lucky developed a distinct style that set him apart from many singers of his time. His calm voice and simple musical approach helped him build a loyal audience.
