The actress had recently revealed on the reality show that the couple is heading for divorce, leaving fans shocked. During their conversation, Gaurav clarified that although they have decided to separate, they are still legally married and have not yet filed for divorce. Later in the show, Akanksha opened up about one of the biggest reasons behind their decision to separate. Speaking with fellow contestants Shreya Kalra and Sufi Motiwala, she shared that she never had the desire to become a mother. She explained that when they got married, she was open to the possibility that her feelings might change with time. However, as the years passed, she realised that she truly did not want children. Akanksha said she had honestly shared this with Gaurav long ago. She explained that while he initially accepted her decision, his wish to become a father grew stronger over time. Once she realised she could not give him the family he wanted, she told him that if becoming a parent was important to him, she would understand if he chose to leave the marriage.
Akanksha also said that she believes many people get married because they want to build a family and have children. She made it clear that she does not blame Gaurav for wanting to become a father and respects his feelings. At the same time, she did not want him to sacrifice such an important dream because of her.
