Gaurav Khanna entered the Lock Upp house to meet his wife, Akanksha Chamola, who is currently participating in the reality show. Their emotional meeting quickly became one of the most talked about moments of the season as the two spoke openly about their decision to separate and the reactions it has received outside the show. During the conversation, Gaurav told Akanksha that her announcement about their divorce has become a major topic of discussion among viewers. Hearing this, Akanksha became emotional and broke down in tears. She said that the separation is real and shared how difficult it has been to deal with the constant criticism. She explained that many people are judging her without understanding the full story and that the public reaction has been painful.
Gaurav assured Akanksha that he would always stand by her and support her no matter what happens. He encouraged her to stay strong, focus on the game and try to win the competition. He also said that he does not like hearing negative comments about her because they are still legally married. According to him, people believe they separated more than a year ago and think he only appeared with her in public to help her image. Gaurav clarified that this is not true and wanted people to know that they have always handled their relationship with respect and maturity.
Akanksha also shared her feelings with fellow contestant Pamela. She said that for almost a year she has faced criticism from people who blamed her for not wanting children. She revealed that many told her she was ruining Gaurav’s dream of becoming a father and even advised her to leave him. Now, she said, the same people are refusing to accept that they have decided to separate peacefully. She questioned why society finds it so difficult to believe that two people can end a marriage without hatred, arguments or bitterness. She said that if people cannot accept such a mature decision, then that is their issue and not hers.
Later, actor Ram Kapoor tried to comfort Akanksha, but she admitted that the situation keeps becoming more difficult every day. She said she feels as if she is being publicly judged and unfairly targeted. During the premiere of Lock Upp Season 2, Akanksha had revealed that she and Gaurav are getting a divorce. She also shared that she is bisexual and does not want to have children because she does not feel a maternal instinct.
