Welcome To The Jungle Crosses ₹126 Crore But Faces A Sharp Box Office Slowdown

Welcome To The Jungle earned ₹0.50 crore on its third Monday, taking its India total to ₹126.10 crore nett as the film enters the final phase of its box office run.

Welcome To The Jungle continued its theatrical run with slower collections on its third Monday. The Akshay Kumar starrer collected an estimated ₹0.50 crore nett, which is around a 40 per cent drop compared to its third Friday earnings. With this, the film’s total collection has reached ₹126.10 crore nett at the Indian box office.

The film also recorded a much bigger drop when compared with its previous Monday, with collections falling by around 80 per cent. One of the reasons for the decline is the arrival of Dhamaal 4, which released during the third weekend and attracted a large share of the audience.

Here is the film’s box office performance so far:

Week One: ₹92.25 crore

Week Two: ₹29.00 crore

Third Friday: ₹0.85 crore

Third Saturday: ₹1.60 crore

Third Sunday: ₹1.85 crore

Third Monday: ₹0.50 crore (estimated)

Total: ₹126.10 crore nett

Based on its current trend, Welcome To The Jungle is expected to collect around ₹7 crore to ₹9 crore during its third week. This could take its total to around ₹130 crore nett by the end of the week. If collections continue at the present pace, the film is expected to complete its theatrical run with around ₹135 crore nett in India.

The film has performed steadily at the box office, although its collections are expected to remain below the lifetime totals of Bhooth Bangla and Housefull 5. Despite this, its reported production costs are understood to be lower than some recent big budget comedy films, which improves its overall financial performance.

The Welcome franchise has enjoyed strong popularity over the years. The original film was one of the highest grossing Hindi films of its time, while the second instalment also performed well despite featuring a different lead actor. Compared with those films, Welcome To The Jungle has delivered a more moderate box office performance.

As the film enters the final stage of its theatrical run, its total collection is expected to settle around ₹135 crore nett, with the coming days deciding its final lifetime box office numbers.
