Jayati Bhatia Reveals Why Dipika Kakar Chose To Embrace Islam

Jayati Bhatia says Dipika Kakar did not embrace Islam to marry Shoaib Ibrahim and calls it a personal decision inspired by faith and inner strength.

Television actress Dipika Kakar and Shoaib Ibrahim have been married for eight years, but their relationship continues to attract public attention. One of the most discussed topics has been Dipika’s decision to embrace Islam before her marriage. Addressing the long standing speculation, Dipika’s Sasural Simar Ka co star Jayati Bhatia has now shared her perspective and said that the actress did not convert because of her marriage.

In a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, quoted by Siasat.com, Jayati Bhatia spoke about Dipika’s decision and explained that it was a personal choice rather than a condition for marrying Shoaib Ibrahim.

“It is well known that Dipika gives her 100 percent to everything, whatever job she might be doing. When she got in a relationship with Shoaib, she wanted to give 100 percent to that relationship,” she said.

Jayati revealed that she had personally asked Dipika about the rumours surrounding her conversion. According to her, Dipika explained that the decision came during a difficult phase in her life after visiting Ajmer Sharif.

“I asked her if she converted because of her marriage. She said no. She was going through a difficult time and she went to Ajmer Sharif and it came to her that she wanted to do this, and she did. It wasn’t because of marriage or anything; maybe she got her strength from this,” Bhatia added.

Jayati further explained that Dipika found peace and strength through her faith, which eventually led her to embrace Islam.

“If she was getting strength from praying, she decided then that she would like to convert, and it is absolutely a personal choice,” the actress said.

Dipika Kakar and Shoaib Ibrahim first met on the sets of the television show Sasural Simar Ka in 2011, where they played the lead characters Simar and Prem. Their friendship gradually turned into a relationship, and after dating for several years, they got married on February 22, 2018, in an intimate ceremony in Bhopal attended by family members and close friends.

The couple welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Ruhaan, five years after their wedding. Over the years, Dipika and Shoaib have continued to share glimpses of their personal and family life with fans through social media and vlogs, while remaining one of television’s well known celebrity couples.
