Akshay Kumar’s Welcome To The Jungle continued its run at the Indian box office by collecting around Rs. 4.25 crore nett on its 2nd Friday. The collection was more than 70 percent lower than the film’s opening Friday, showing a noticeable slowdown in earnings. Compared to the previous day, the film also recorded a drop of around 20 percent. Trade observers believe a steadier performance on Friday would have given the film stronger momentum going into the weekend.
After 8 days in theatres, the film has collected approximately Rs. 96.75 crore nett in India. It is now expected to cross the Rs. 100 crore nett mark on its 9th day. The film had shown a strong performance during its opening weekend and maintained good collections on Monday and Tuesday. However, earnings declined over the next 3 days, which has raised questions about its long term box office performance.
According to trade estimates, Welcome To The Jungle appeared to be on track for a successful run until Tuesday. The slower collections during the middle of the week have made its journey slightly more challenging.
