Obsession Continues Strong Run As It Moves Closer To Rs. 100 Crore

Obsession earned Rs. 84.60 crore in three weeks and remains on track to cross the Rs. 100 crore mark at the Indian box office soon.

The Hollywood horror thriller Obsession continued its successful run at the Indian box office, adding Rs. 1.65 crore gross on its third Thursday. With this collection, the film completed its third week with earnings of Rs. 25.60 crore gross. Compared to the previous week, the movie recorded a decline of around 30 per cent. However, this drop is considered reasonable for a film that has already spent three weeks in theatres. The steady performance suggests that audience interest remains strong, especially for a horror title.

By the end of its third week, Obsession had accumulated a total of Rs. 84.60 crore gross at the Indian box office. The film has managed to maintain a consistent performance and continues to attract moviegoers despite competition from newer releases.

Directed by Curry Barker, the horror thriller is now moving closer to another significant milestone. Based on current trends, trade observers believe the film has a strong chance of crossing the Rs. 100 crore gross mark in India. If the momentum continues, the movie could achieve that figure during its fifth week in theatres.

The film is also expected to surpass the collection of Project Hail Mary in the coming days. If that happens, Obsession will strengthen its position among the highest performing Hollywood releases currently running in India.

Industry projections suggest that the movie could also become the biggest Hollywood horror film in India by overtaking The Conjuring: Last Rites. Such an achievement would be notable for the horror genre, which often faces challenges in maintaining long theatrical runs.

A major reason behind the film’s performance appears to be positive audience response and strong word of mouth. Horror films typically rely on audience recommendations after release, and Obsession seems to have benefited from that support over the past three weeks.

The day wise box office collections of Obsession in India are as follows:

Week One: Rs. 21.85 crore

Second Friday: Rs. 4.00 crore

Second Saturday: Rs. 7.80 crore

Second Sunday: Rs. 8.80 crore

Second Monday: Rs. 4.25 crore

Third Tuesday: Rs. 2.25 crore

Third Wednesday: Rs. 1.85 crore

Third Thursday: Rs. 1.65 crore

With a strong three week total and steady audience support, Obsession remains one of the better performing Hollywood films in India this year. The coming weeks will determine whether it can successfully cross the Rs. 100 crore mark and set a new benchmark for horror films at the Indian box office.
