Mohanlal’s Drishyam 3 witnessed a decline in collections on its ninth day in theatres but continued its successful run at the box office. According to early estimates, the film collected ₹4.30 crore nett in India on Day 9. This was around 35 per cent lower than the ₹6.65 crore nett earned on the previous day.
Despite the drop, the film has continued to attract audiences, particularly in Kerala, which remains its strongest market. The Malayalam version continues to contribute the majority of the film’s earnings. On Day 9, the Malayalam version generated around ₹4 crore from 1,826 shows and recorded an occupancy of approximately 42 per cent.
The dubbed versions also added to the overall collection, although on a smaller scale. The Telugu version earned around ₹15 lakh, while the Tamil version contributed ₹10 lakh. The Kannada version collected approximately ₹5 lakh on the same day.
With its latest earnings, Drishyam 3 has crossed another important milestone. The film’s India gross collection has now reached ₹100.08 crore, while its India nett collection stands at ₹86.25 crore after 9 days in theatres.
The film has also maintained a strong performance in overseas markets. Reports suggest that it earned ₹6 crore internationally on Day 9, taking its overseas gross collection to ₹109 crore. Combining both domestic and overseas earnings, the film’s worldwide gross collection has now reached ₹209.08 crore.
This achievement has helped Drishyam 3 become one of the highest grossing Malayalam films of 2026. At present, it holds the second position among Malayalam releases this year. The top spot remains with Vaazha II: Biopic of a Billion Bros, which has reportedly collected ₹235.26 crore worldwide.
Drishyam 3 has already surpassed the lifetime collections of several Malayalam releases, including Aadu 3, which earned ₹120.11 crore worldwide, Patriot with ₹79.97 crore, Athiradi with ₹62.95 crore and Bharathanatyam 2 Mohiniyattam with ₹40.04 crore.
The film opened strongly on its release day, collecting ₹15.85 crore. It maintained momentum throughout its opening week, earning nearly ₹54.45 crore nett within its first four days and ending its first week with a total India nett collection of ₹81.95 crore.
Released worldwide on May 21, 2026, coinciding with Mohanlal’s 66th birthday, Drishyam 3 is written and directed by Jeethu Joseph. The film marks the return of Georgekutty, one of the most popular characters in Malayalam cinema. The cast also includes Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil, Siddique and Asha Sarath in important roles.
As the film enters its second weekend, attention will be on whether it can maintain its momentum and continue adding to its already impressive box office total.
