Alia Bhatt is expanding her work in the South Indian film industry, recently she announced the release of her forthcoming film Jigra in the Telugu language. Eager to broaden her appeal as a Pan-India star, she has expressed a keen interest in collaborating with renowned actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu. To make this happen, she has reached out to the director Trivikram Srinivas. Her previous cameo in RRR and her film Jigra’s Telugu release mark exciting additions to her growing portfolio, underscoring her ambition to captivate audiences nationwide.
Now she wants to work with Samantha Ruth Prabu and made a special request to director Trivikram Srinivas. She is eying to soon become a Pan-India star, and her cameo in RRR and Jigra’s Telugu release add credits to her goal.
During a promotional event of Jigra (Telugu) in Hyderabad, Alia Bhatt expressed her desire to work with Samantha Ruth Prabhu in a film. She wants to share the screen with her and has a special request from filmmaker Trivikram Srinivas. She wants him to write and direct a movie featuring both female stars as their collaboration.
Alia Bhatt was quoted saying, “Trivikram sir, I think Samantha and I should be in a film, written and directed by you. They say that actresses compete with each other, but there is no such thing. Today, I have a pan-India superstar (Samantha) to support me and say kind words about my film. Thanks, Samantha.”
At the same Jigra pre-release event, Alia also praised Samantha Ruth Prabhuu calling her a hero on and off screen. She weaved words of praise and expressed her deep admiration for the actress. Bhatt said, “You are a hero on-screen and off-screen. I have so much admiration for your talent, resilience, and strength. It’s not easy to be a woman in a man’s world. But you have surpassed gender. You stand tall on your two feet, you have talent and strong kicks to be the example for everyone.”
Jigra is an emotional heartwarming story of a brother and sister set in an intense gripping narrative. The story revolves around Alia Bhatt, a sister – Satya, who goes to extremes to save her brother Ankur who is imprisoned in a foreign jail. The power-packed action thriller is directed by Vasan Bala and is slated to release in theaters on October 11 in Hindi and Telugu. The film is bankrolled by Alia Bhatt in association with Karan Johar under Eternal Sunshine Productions and Dharma Productions.
