Amitabh Bachchan presents Filmfare Lifetime Achievement award to his first leading lady

Amitabh Bachchan was mighty delighted to present the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award to yesteryear actress Tanuja at the 59th Filmfare Awards 2014. Big B got nostalgic as he handed over the award to Tanuja, who was the first leading lady of his career. The duo were paired together in the 1971 film PYAR KI KAHANI.

TO TANUJA AT 59TH FILMFARE AWARDS

”Ladies and Gentlemen a privilege and a very great honour to present the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award to this great star, this breath of fresh air that descended on the firmament, this warm welcome breeze on a cold winter morning – vibrant, pulsating with energy, carefree and liberated and completely uninhibited – my very first leading lady, who consented to work with me in my film of the 70’s ‘Pyaar ki Kahani’, a remake of a Tamil film ‘Kaikudhta Dievam’ starring three iconic stars of the South, Shivaji Ganesan, Gemini Ganesan and Savitri … Tanuja !,” Big B wrote on his blog
