The trailer of “Ishq Vishk Rebound” has been released, featuring a promising young cast including Rohit Saraf, Pashmina Roshan, Jibraan Khan, and Naila Grewal. However, despite the fresh faces and modern twist, the trailer reveals a film that seems disappointingly predictable and uninspiring.
Ishq Vishk Rebound appears to follow the same formulaic approach as its predecessor, the original “Ishq Vishk” from 2003. The storyline, involving friends who fall in and out of love with each other, feels recycled and lacks originality. While the film attempts to update the narrative for a Gen Z audience with modern dating habits like ghosting and breadcrumbing, it still comes off as a predictable affair that doesn’t offer anything new to the romantic comedy genre.
Rohit Saraf and Pashmina Roshan, who play close friends realizing their attraction to each other, fail to ignite the screen with their chemistry. Their interactions feel staged and lack the genuine spark needed to make the audience root for their romance.
Ishq Vishk Rebound fails to deliver on the promise of something new and exciting. The nostalgia of the original “Ishq Vishk,” which starred Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao, might draw audiences to the theaters, but the trailer suggests that the film might not live up to the high expectations set by its predecessor.
