The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has once again summoned Bollywood actress Jacqueliene Fernandez for questioning in connection with a money laundering case involving conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar. According to the source, the ED called Fernandez after uncovering new critical evidence they wish to verify with her.
Jacqueliene Fernandez is implicated in the case for allegedly benefiting from the proceeds of Chandrashekhar’s crimes. Chandrashekhar is accused of extorting Rs 200 crore from Aditi Singh, the wife of former Fortis Healthcare promoter Shivinder Singh, and using the illicit funds to buy gifts for Fernandez. These gifts reportedly included three designer bags, two Gucci gym outfits, a pair of Louis Vuitton shoes, two pairs of diamond earrings, among other items.
Fernandez’s counsel, Aman Nandrajog, declined to comment on the situation. This summons is not her first interaction with the ED; she has been questioned multiple times before. In her 2021 statement, she acknowledged receiving the gifts but has consistently denied any romantic involvement with Chandrashekhar.
In February 2024, Fernandez accused Chandrashekhar of using the media to tarnish her reputation and alleged harassment, though she later withdrew her plea for the court to file a case against him. The ED, in an affidavit to the Delhi High Court, asserted that Fernandez was knowingly involved in possessing and using the proceeds of Chandrashekhar’s crimes, responding to her plea to quash an FIR against her in the money laundering case.
Chandrashekhar is currently held in Delhi’s Mandoli jail in connection with the Rs 200 crore extortion case. The ongoing investigation continues to unravel the extent of Fernandez’s involvement and the legitimacy of the allegations against her.
