Kangana Ranaut is often at the center of public debates and controversies. Her recent Instagram post congratulating Vinesh Phogat for her achievement at the Paris 2024 Olympics drew significant backlash. While she acknowledged Phogat’s success, Ranaut also referenced Phogat’s participation in protests against the Wrestling Federation of India and her critical slogan against Prime Minister Modi.
Many social media users found Ranaut’s comments inappropriate, arguing that Phogat’s achievements were a result of her own hard work and not due to political support. Critics felt that Ranaut’s remarks undermined Phogat’s personal efforts and contributions to sports. Additionally, some accused Ranaut of shifting focus from the athlete’s success to her political narrative.
Kangana Ranaut, who won a Lok Sabha seat from Mandi in June 2024 and is now active in the Rajya Sabha, has also been in the news for rumors about selling her production house property in Bandra, Mumbai. A YouTube channel suggested that her property, potentially worth Rs 40 crore, is up for sale, adding to the media buzz surrounding her.
Vinesh had scripted history by becoming the first Indian woman to reach the final of a wrestling event in Olympic Games. But, fate had something else in store for her. The Indian coach revealed that Vinesh was found overweight by just 100gm on Wednesday morning. Though the margin was small, the rules do not allow for an exception to be made.
“She was found overweight by 100gm this morning. The rules do not allow this and she has been disqualified,” said an Indian coach.
She is asking for it again. I hope Kangana Ranaut doesn’t encounter Kulwinder Kaur again. pic.twitter.com/Joa4wHUbpe
