Karan Johar reflects on National Film Award win for ‘Brahmastra’: Gratitude and magnanimity define this moment

Karan Johar and Ayan Mukerji recently attended the 70th National Film Awards held in Delhi on Tuesday. They both won the National Award for his film Brahmastra. After the win, Johar shared a picture with Mukerji on his social media and wrote a note in which he thanked the audience for their love and support and gave credit to Ayan for making such a great film.

He wrote his note after winning the National Film Award. He also said that today Dharma Movies has also completed 44 years. In the first picture, he can be seen with Ayan Mukerji, both of them are standing with their honours. In the second picture, Johar is seen posing alone with his award. Along with the pictures, he also posted a video of himself and Mukerji receiving the award from President Draupadi Murmu.

Sharing these pictures, Karan wrote, “Whenever I step on this stage, there is always a feeling of a different magic. But there is one feeling that always remains – gratitude. Thank you Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for giving our film fraternity the continued support and strength to tell stories and reach it to the people of our country and thank you for the immense love given by the audience. This is my third time on the stage and it is a great occasion to celebrate as Dharma Movies also completes 44 years today.”

In his post, Karan mentioned Brahmastra director Ayan Mukherjee and wrote – “Brahmastra is going to be recorded in history”. He also tagged the entire team of Brahmastra including actors, singers and studio. At the 70th National Awards, Brahmastra won the awards for Best Male Singer (Arijit Singh for Kesariya), Best Film (Animation, Visual Effects Gaming and Comic) in AVGC, and Best Music Director (Songs, Pritam).

Karan Johar first won a National Award for “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” in 2000, which starred Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, and Rani Mukerji in lead roles. He received another National Award for “Shershaah” in 2022, a film based on the life of PVC Vikram Batra, featuring Siddharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani. Now Karan Johar was awarded for “Brahmastra,” which starred Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the lead.
