Madhu Chopra, the mother of global star Priyanka Chopra, recently opened up about a decision she regrets deeply—sending her daughter to boarding school at the age of seven. In an emotional interview on Rodrigo Canelas’ Something Bigger Talk Show podcast, Madhu recalled how difficult it was for her and Priyanka. She explained that while she tried to visit Priyanka every Saturday, the separation took a toll on her daughter, who struggled to adjust. Madhu admitted, “I still regret it. I still cry over it,” acknowledging the emotional strain the decision caused for both of them.
Madhu shared that despite her visits, Priyanka would wait eagerly every Saturday for her arrival, but the teachers eventually advised her to stop coming, as it was disrupting Priyanka’s adjustment. Reflecting on this, Madhu expressed mixed feelings, saying, “That is one regretful decision, but Priyanka turned out alright. She landed on her feet.”
While Madhu feels this regret, she also takes immense pride in how Priyanka has thrived. The two share a very close bond, with Madhu often accompanying her daughter to shoots and standing by her side through her highs and lows.
Priyanka, who made her acting debut in the Tamil film Thamizhan and later appeared in the Hindi film The Hero: Love Story of a Spy, has since become a global sensation.
