Nearly 22 years after the iconic Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, filmmaker Anil Sharma has brought audiences the much-anticipated sequel, Gadar 2, which has achieved blockbuster status and broken numerous box office records. Recently, in an interview with Lallantop Cinema, Sharma discussed the potential for Gadar 3 and hinted at the possibility of Nana Patekar making an appearance in the upcoming film.
Sharma revealed that he has had discussions with Nana Patekar about the possibility of him joining the Gadar 3 cast. He mentioned, “Meri baat hui hai 1-2 dafe. Humari baatein hoti hai,” indicating that the two have spoken about it several times. However, he also clarified that Gadar 3 is still in the early stages, stating, “Lekin aese kuch ho paae ke Nana sir aa paae Gadar 3 me aur aesa kuch character bann jae toh boht he achi baat ho” (But if something could happen and Nana sir could join the Gadar 3 team, then it would be a good thing).
Earlier this year, Sharma shared that preparations for Gadar 3 are in full swing, working on the script. He confirmed at the Pinkvilla Screen & Style Icons Awards that the film is set to release in 2026, stating, “Gadar 3 will come in 2026. Aaegi part 3 bhi aaegi 2026 me bol k jaa raha hu.”
Reflecting on the success of Gadar and its impact on the industry, Sharma expressed his gratitude to audiences and industry colleagues. He noted how the original film “created history” and revitalized the industry, thanking Sunny Deol, his unit, and fans for their support.
