Former Punjab Congress president Navjot Singh Sidhu announced on Thursday that his wife, former MLA Navjot Kaur Sidhu, has successfully defeated stage 4 cancer, a remarkable recovery given that doctors had initially given her only a 3% chance of survival. Speaking at a press conference at their residence in Amritsar, Sidhu shared how she battled the disease with unwavering determination.
Navjot Kaur’s health worsened after their son’s wedding, which she had insisted on arranging despite her condition. Sidhu recalled, “Her cancer came back after our son’s marriage. She doubted her survival but never gave up hope and faced cancer bravely.”

Highlighting the affordability and effectiveness of treatment at government facilities, Sidhu revealed that most of her care was provided at Government Rajendra Medical College in Patiala, costing only a few lakhs. He added, “She defeated cancer not because we had money but because she was disciplined and followed a strict routine. Cancer can be treated effectively even at government hospitals.”
The couple outlined Navjot Kaur’s disciplined recovery regimen, which included natural remedies and anti-cancer foods. Her daily routine featured lemon water, raw turmeric, apple cider vinegar, neem leaves, and tulsi. Her diet emphasized sour fruits, juices made from pumpkin, pomegranate, amla, beetroot, and walnuts, and meals prepared with coconut oil, cold-pressed oils, or almond oil. Morning tea was enriched with cinnamon, cloves, jaggery, and cardamom, all known for their health benefits.
Sidhu expressed immense gratitude for her recovery, urging others to adopt healthy lifestyles as a preventive measure against serious illnesses like cancer and fatty liver disease. “Cancer can be defeated with discipline, courage, and a healthy lifestyle,” he said, hoping their story would inspire others facing similar challenges.
