Rajpal Yadav, known for his memorable comic roles in over a hundred films, has been facing significant financial challenges due to a loan he took in 2012 to fund his directorial venture Ata Pata Lapatta. The actor borrowed Rs 5 crore from the Bandra, Mumbai branch of the Central Bank of India but has struggled to repay the loan. As a result, the bank has seized his property in his hometown of Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

According to reports, officials from the Central Bank of India, Mumbai, arrived in Shahjahanpur and placed a banner on the property, indicating that it now belongs to the bank. The notice also prohibited any transactions involving the property, and by Monday morning, the property had been officially seized due to the outstanding loan.

This financial ordeal isn’t new for Yadav. In 2018, he served a three-month jail sentence related to the same loan default. Reflecting on his time in jail, Yadav shared that he tried to make the best of the situation by conducting workshops for fellow inmates. Speaking with YouTuber Siddharth Kannan, he revealed how these workshops helped inspire prisoners who had lost hope, giving them a renewed sense of purpose. Yadav’s positive impact on the inmates was so profound that when he left, the jail superintendent and staff awarded him two certificates in recognition of his efforts.

Despite these personal and financial setbacks, Rajpal Yadav remains an admired figure in the entertainment industry, known for his resilience and ability to bring humor to the screen.
