Rakul Preet Singh recently shared her thoughts on relationships and infidelity, following her husband Jackky Bhagnani’s controversial remark calling their marriage a “situationship.” The comment had taken the internet by storm, with many fans confused about what he meant. Now, Rakul is setting the record straight with her candid perspective.
The actor appeared on the YouTube show The Bombay Journey with Sara Ali Khan and Ayushmann Khurrana. When asked whether cheating can ever be acceptable, Rakul responded with a firm no. Sara added that while a person should apologize, cheating is still not acceptable. Ayushmann offered a slightly different view, suggesting that if someone genuinely says sorry, mistakes can be forgiven because life is long.
Rakul explained that it depends on the situation and the extent of the mistake. She clarified that she does not personally condone cheating in her own relationship but acknowledged that sometimes people make a slip. She said, “Life is too long not to forgive a one-time mistake,” emphasizing that forgiveness is possible, but it does not apply to her marriage personally.
The conversation also explored the idea of forgetting versus forgiving. Sara mentioned that she might forgive but not forget, while Rakul said that if someone truly forgives, they will eventually have to let go of the memory as well. Ayushmann echoed this sentiment, pointing out that humans are bound to make mistakes, but genuine apology and love can allow a relationship to move forward.
This discussion comes just days after Jackky Bhagnani created a buzz by calling his marriage a “situationship.” In an interview on Zingabad, he said that while they are married and exclusive to each other, their relationship feels more flexible, and they can talk openly about anything. The remark led to playful interactions between the couple, with Rakul jokingly scolding Jackky in a video, while he laughed and apologized.
Rakul was last seen in the film Pati Patni Aur Woh Do with Ayushmann Khurrana, Sara Ali Khan, and Wamiqa Gabbi. The movie is a spiritual sequel to the earlier Pati Patni Aur Woh and is a remake of the 1978 classic. According to Hindustan Times, the film delivers laughs and energetic performances but fell short of expectations at the box office after its release on May 15.
