It has been two weeks since the tragic assassination of NCP leader and former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, leaving his family, particularly his son Zeeshan Siddique, grappling with profound grief. The impact of Siddique’s death has also deeply affected Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, who shared a close bond with him. Notably, the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the murder, citing Siddique’s connection to Khan as a motive.
Zeeshan opened up about the emotional toll of his father’s death on Salman, describing him as a “Bhaijaan” to their family since the incident on October 12, when Siddique was shot by three assailants in Bandra East. He mentioned, “Salman bhai has been very upset after the incident. Pitaji and Salman bhai were close like real brothers. After dad’s death, bhai has supported us a lot. He always checks in on me and talks to me at night about being unable to sleep. His support is always there and will continue.”
Siddique’s murder followed a previous incident six months prior when members of the Bishnoi gang fired shots at Salman’s home in Mumbai. Known for his extravagant iftar parties that drew numerous Bollywood celebrities, Siddique played a significant role in reconciling Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan in 2013, famously facilitating their celebrated hug at one of his events. The loss of Siddique has not only shaken his family but has also reverberated through the Bollywood community.
