The anticipation for The Buckingham Murders has indeed soared with the release of its new teaser. The teaser for the suspense thriller, directed by Hansal Mehta and starring Kareena Kapoor, promises a gripping narrative that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats. Kareena takes on the role of a detective and grieving mother, who, after the tragic loss of her own child, is tasked with investigating the murder of a 10-year-old in Buckinghamshire.
The teaser effectively captures the film’s tense and mysterious atmosphere. It showcases Kareena’s character grappling with her emotions while navigating a town where everyone appears suspicious. Her internal struggle and the weight of her past losses add depth to the suspense, making it clear that this investigation is as much about solving the murder as it is about confronting her personal demons.
Written by Aseem Arrora, Kashyap Kapoor, and Raghav Raj Kakker, The Buckingham Murders marks Kareena’s debut as a producer, alongside Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa Kapoor under the banners of Balaji Telefilms and TBM Films. Kareena has previously expressed her admiration for Kate Winslet’s role in Mare of Easttown, revealing that her character in this film is partly inspired by Winslet’s portrayal of a detective in that series. In a 2023 interview with Variety, Kareena shared her excitement about taking on this role, which she described as something she had long wanted to do.
Set for release on September 13, 2024, The Buckingham Murders also stars Ash Tandon, Ranveer Brar, and Keith Allen, adding to the ensemble cast.
In addition to this film, Kareena Kapoor will be seen in Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again, the third installment of the successful Singham franchise. This film features a star-studded cast including Ajay Devgn, Arjun Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, and Ranveer Singh, and is expected to continue the high-octane action and drama that fans of the series have come to love.
