The highly-awaited Don 3, which is to be directed by Farhan Akhtar and to star Ranveer Singh and Kiara Advani, is creating waves as it gets ready to shoot. The news making the rounds now is that actor Vikrant Massey has been approached for the role of the lead antagonist, since he’s been doing great in performances with 12th Fail and The Sabarmati Report.
Sources inform that Vikrant has been approached to play a main antagonist opposite Ranveer Singh. Whether it will be a career leap in big time is still only known, for the actor hasn’t yet issued an official statement regarding taking up the role. Even Farhan Akhtar has not expressed anything in this regard.
Farhan recently spoke about the casting of Ranveer Singh as Don on a podcast with YouTuber Raj Shamani talking about why he didn’t try a trilogy with Shah Rukh Khan. According to Farhan, Don 3 required a “next-generation actor,” and who else could it be but Ranveer Singh? He says, “Shah Rukh did his part, his era’s Don. Now, it’s time for the next Don.” Talking about the charm, energy, and mischievous aura around Ranveer Singh, hinting that the role will explore a side of the actor nobody has seen before.
The report published in News18 Showsha claims that the movie Don 3 is still in pre-production. The shoot of pre-production will start from March 2024 because both Farhan and Ranveer are busy with their respective projects. Farhan will star opposite Shraddha Kapoor in the movie Wah Takat Aa under the directorial expertise of Habib Faisal. He is getting ready for his next project as well. Ranveer is shooting for the action-thriller movie, which he is doing with Aditya Dhar, the director of Uri. The titleless project boasts of Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, and Arjun Rampal in the movie; this is to be produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios. Ranveer is also gearing up for this big responsibility of being a father. His schedule has become even more hectic with this new event in his life.
However, Vikrant Massey’s recent shows have convinced everyone that he is nothing less than a versatile actor. He was highly appreciated for the horror depiction of a psychopathic killer in Sector 36. He had also romanced Raashi Khanna and Ridhi Dogra in The Sabarmati Report.
Words have the potential to get tough with Don 3. And, the chatter over it is a complete action thriller. The fan has anxiously been waiting for updates on the cast as well as the storyline. If Vikrant Massey does form part of the ensemble, then his presence in his own avatar as the antagonist shall undoubtedly throw in an exciting dynamic to this next installment of the Don franchise.
