Vipin Patwa shares back story of his ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’ track

Music composer Vipin Patwa, who composed the song ‘Vande Mataram’ for the film ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’, has provided insights into the creative process behind the track. He explained that he deliberately kept the production minimal to ensure that the vocals remained the focal point of his composition.

In discussing the song, Vipin Patwa expressed, “This song is a tribute to our motherland. The song is a soft groovy patriotic track in which we have tried to capture a lullaby emotion towards our motherland.” He added that the inspiration for the song came from Randeep Hooda’s character and the situations depicted in the film, particularly when the character is in Kaalapani and feels a deep connection to the country.

The composer elaborated, “It was a situation when his inner soul is humming this lullaby for the motherland. I have used very few instruments as this scene is very powerful and the melody is also very powerful.” He aimed to create an emotional resonance and convey the depth of the character’s feelings for the motherland through the music, imagining a scenario where someone without instruments is expressing their emotions through a hum.

Vipin Patwa’s efforts to capture the essence and pain of the character’s emotions seem to have resonated well with the audience, as he mentioned receiving positive feedback from viewers of the film.

‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’ marks Randeep Hooda’s directorial debut and focuses on the life and contributions of Indian freedom fighter and politician V. D. Savarkar.
