Nearly three decades after one of the most painful chapters of her life, Kathie Lee Gifford is looking back with honesty and grace. In a recent interview with PEOPLE, the television personality reflected on the public fallout from her late husband Frank Gifford’s infidelity and revealed that, while she’s content with where she is today, she has no plans to get married again.
“I am not dating anybody right now, and I don’t want to date,” Gifford said. “I’m not looking, and I don’t think I’ll ever get married again.”
Frank Gifford, the former NFL star and broadcaster, died in 2015 at the age of 84. Despite the highly publicized affair that rocked their marriage in 1997, Kathie Lee said he will always remain the love of her life.
She admitted there was a time when another serious relationship seemed possible after Frank’s death, but it ultimately didn’t work out. Even so, Gifford isn’t completely closing the door on love.
“Frank will always be the love of my life,” she said, adding that if “God wants to do something miraculous” by bringing another great love into her life, she would be open to it.
Looking back on the cheating scandal that once dominated tabloid headlines, Gifford believes the way she handled the situation has gone on to inspire others. She shared that “there’s not a day that goes by” without someone telling her that her resilience and willingness to fight for her marriage encouraged them to save their own relationship.
The 72-year-old has often spoken about choosing forgiveness over bitterness, and her latest comments reflect the same outlook. While she isn’t searching for another chapter in her love life, she says she’s at peace with the life she’s built and remains grateful for the years she shared with Frank.
For Gifford, the past may have been marked by heartbreak, but it’s also become a story of healing, faith, and resilience that continues to resonate with many people today.
