Rumer Willis’ custody dispute with former partner Derek Richard Thomas has taken another dramatic turn, with Thomas strongly denying allegations recently made against him by both Rumer and her mother, Demi Moore. The dispute centers around the former couple’s three-year-old daughter, Louetta, as both sides continue to battle over parenting arrangements and custody matters. According to newly filed legal documents, Thomas has pushed back against claims that he has displayed controlling or aggressive behavior. His response comes after Demi Moore reportedly submitted statements describing him as someone who allegedly attempted to dictate aspects of Rumer’s environment and showed little regard for her well-being.
Thomas has firmly denied those accusations, stating that he has never behaved aggressively or inappropriately toward Rumer or their daughter. He further claims that negative portrayals of him have been amplified through what he describes as a coordinated effort across multiple media outlets.
In his filing, Thomas also raises concerns about Louetta’s presence in sponsored social media content, alleging that some material involving the child included adult-oriented humor that he did not approve of beforehand.
The musician additionally argues that he has remained an active and involved father throughout his daughter’s life. He claims to have maintained daily communication with Louetta through video calls and says he has repeatedly attempted to arrange in-person visits, which he alleges have often been complicated by changing conditions and restrictions.
Another point of disagreement involves Louetta’s living arrangements. Thomas claims that what was initially presented as a temporary relocation eventually became a more permanent move, creating further complications regarding custody and visitation.
He has also denied allegations regarding financial neglect and substance abuse. According to the court documents, Thomas says he is willing to provide reasonable child support and maintain financial contributions toward his daughter’s care.
As part of his request to the court, Thomas is seeking a structured temporary parenting plan that would establish clear visitation schedules, holiday arrangements and communication guidelines. He argues that a formal arrangement would provide stability and consistency for Louetta while the broader custody matter continues to be resolved.
Neither Rumer Willis nor Demi Moore have publicly responded to the latest filing.
Rumer and Thomas ended their relationship in 2024 after welcoming their daughter the previous year. Since then, both parents have remained involved in Louetta’s life, though the legal dispute has increasingly played out in public.
The custody proceedings remain ongoing, and a final resolution has yet to be reached.
