Actor Zachary Levi, best known for his role as the charming superhero in Shazam, has shared joyful news: he and his girlfriend, Maggie Keating, are expecting their first child. The 44-year-old actor took to Instagram on Friday, where he posted an emotional announcement accompanied by an ultrasound image and a candid picture of Keating embracing him during a beach outing.

In his post, Levi described becoming a father as a lifelong dream and shared how he had felt a sense of incompleteness without the prospect of parenthood. “I’ve wanted to be a dad since I was literally a kid. I’ve always felt that call on my life,” he wrote, adding that he believed the best years of his life would begin with fatherhood.

Levi also reflected how he had to undergo some personal growth before stepping into this new chapter. “Deep down, I knew there were things in my life that needed to shift before I was ready for the blessing of something so special and the responsibilities that come with it.”

A Journey of Growth
Levi disclosed that he started to take care of himself in November last year, and he has been doing this ever since, taking care of his physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. He said this journey changed his life for the better. “Immediately, things started to manifest for the better,” he said.

Finding Love
Through the heartfelt post, Levi credited Keating as a “wonderful woman” who shared almost the same self-discovery journey. He described Keating as “brilliant, honest, grounded and deep”, about which he is excited for such a new chapter with him.

Levi ended his post by playfully inviting baby name suggestions. “We’re waiting until the birth to know the sex, but I’ll be stoked out of my mind either way. Keep the names original, but not TOO original we don’t need them being bullied more than their theater-nerd father,” he joked.

Amid Recent Controversy
Levi’s happy announcement comes amid some public scrutiny. His former Broadway co-star, Laura Benanti, recently criticized him over comments he made about actor Gavin Creel’s death. Benanti suggested that Levi used the tragedy to promote his personal beliefs. Levi has not responded publicly to the allegations.

Moving Forward
Despite the controversy, Levi’s fans have flooded his post with congratulations and well-wishes for his upcoming fatherhood. Many have praised his openness about personal growth and his excitement about starting this new chapter with Maggie Keating.

This happy news will create a bright moment for Levi as he prepares to enter fatherhood, something he had wished his whole life. Surely enough, fans will wait eagerly as he and Keating are set to welcome their “little bambino.”
