The Invite focuses on a married couple named Joe and Angela, played by Seth Rogen and Olivia Wilde. The couple are going through a difficult period in their relationship and are struggling to reconnect. As they try to deal with the challenges in their marriage, they decide to invite their upstairs neighbors, Hawk and Pina, portrayed by Edward Norton and Penelope Cruz, to join them for dinner.
What begins as a simple dinner gathering soon develops into something far more complicated. The evening takes unexpected turns as the interactions between the couples reveal hidden emotions, tensions and personal issues. The story explores relationships, trust and the choices people make when facing challenges in their personal lives.
According to the official synopsis, “Joe and Angela’s marriage is on thin ice. When they invite their enigmatic upstairs neighbors for a dinner party, the night spirals into unexpected places. Have they reignited the spark or lit the match that burns it all down?”
The film brings together a cast of well known actors and presents a story centered on marriage and human relationships. Rather than focusing on action or spectacle, the movie examines how personal connections can be tested under unusual circumstances.
The Invite will first open in select theaters on June 26. Following its limited release, the film will expand to theaters across the country on July 10, giving a wider audience the opportunity to watch the relationship drama on the big screen.
