To everyone’s surprise, Timothee Chalamet himself came to visit the look-alike contest in his name on October 27 in Washington Square Park, New York. It was initiated by an avid fan club, which set up an entire contest among fans who showed up to imitate any of his numerous characters: the 28-year-old actor’s stand-in, with the first prize reaching $50.
In a beautiful twist, Timothee himself appeared at the venue dressed casually in a cardigan and baseball cap accompanied by bodyguards. This surprise appearance stirred the fans who immediately ran to take photos with him. Online videos were rife showing the actor smiling and posing with his doppelgangers as the excitement mounted in the event.
The event was hosted by YouTuber Anthony Po, who was entertainingly interacting with look-alikes, questioning Timothée’s alleged girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, as well as testing the participants’ language skills in French. Eventually, Miles Mitchell, aged 21 years, was declared the winner by the gathering, having sported an impressive costume for Willy Wonka-a character for which Timothée Chalamet has been set to play the lead in the upcoming musical drama Wonka.
Although a successful event, the meet did not go unnoticed; rather, it caught the eye of the New York Police since it attracted a humongous crowd and occurred without an official permit being taken. Reports said a situation became chaotic, making police disperse the huge gathering, while one arrest took place, and other attendees were fined. Once police intervened, the programme shifted to a nearby locale, where it continued into the night.
On the professional front, Timothée Chalamet is still shining brighter. He started off debuting in the 2014 comedy-drama Men, Women & Children, and since then, the actor has appeared in successful films like Interstellar, Call Me By Your Name, Little Women, and Bones and All. His last venture was the sequel to the highly anticipated Denis Villeneuve’s Dune. His future projects comprise a biography on Bob Dylan, A Complete Unknown, and the sports drama Marty Supreme.
His personal life, particularly when it comes to his girlfriend Kylie Jenner, a beauty mogul, has been very front-page news. The young couple started dating early 2023 and went public in September. Although they’re famous, they’ve reportedly kept most of their private life about their relationship not so public.
