The new ‘Free Guy’ trailer has arrived.
20th Century Studios has dropped the highly anticipated trailer for upcoming action comedy film ‘Free Guy’, starring Ryan Reynolds and Jodie Comer.
‘Free Guy’ follows the ‘Deadpool’ star as a video game character who, after becoming self-aware, rejects his role as a non-playable character and begins acting as the game’s hero.
The science-fiction action comedy film is based on the life of an ordinary bank teller called Guy (Ryan Reynolds) who is trapped in an open-world video game Free City, where people face injuries and die frequently.
In addition to Reynolds, the film also features Jodie Comer (Killing Eve) who stars as a video game programmer who enters the game world to help Reynolds’ character, while director Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok) stars as game company CEO.
The film also stars Joe Keery, Lil Rel Howery and Utkarsh Ambudkar in pivotal roles.
The official synopsis of ‘Free Guy’ reads: “A bank teller who discovers he is actually a background player in an open-world video game decides to become the hero of his own story… one he rewrites himself. Now in a world where there are no limits, he is determined to be the guy who saves his world his way… before it is too late.”
Directed by Shawn Levy, ‘Free Guy’ will release in theaters on December 11, 2020.
Reynolds and Levy also serve as producers on the film alongside Sarah Schechter, Greg Berlanti, and Adam Kolbrenner. Josh McLaglen, Mary McLaglen, Dan Levine, George Dewey, and Michael Riley McGrath are executive producers.
