Lil Wayne Apologises After Missing Opening Night Of Carter Classics Tour

Lil Wayne missed the opening show of his Carter Classics Tour in Bangor, later apologising to fans and announcing the concert's new date.

Lil Wayne did not perform at the opening show of his 20 Years of Carter Classics Tour, leaving fans in Bangor, Maine, surprised after waiting for him to take the stage. The concert was held on 30 June at the Maine Savings Amphitheater, where the rapper was expected to headline the event after the opening performance by 2 Chainz. The evening began as planned with 2 Chainz performing for the audience. After his set ended, a DJ continued playing music while fans waited for Lil Wayne to appear.

According to the scheduled timings, the rapper was expected to begin his performance at 10:45 pm local time. However, by 11 pm, organisers informed the crowd that the concert had ended and that Lil Wayne would not be performing that night.

The unexpected announcement disappointed many fans who had gathered to watch the opening concert of the tour. At the time, no detailed explanation was given at the venue about why the performance had been cancelled.

A day later, Lil Wayne addressed the situation through his Instagram Story. He apologised to fans in Maine and confirmed that the Bangor concert had been rescheduled for 28 July. He also assured ticket holders that their existing tickets would remain valid for the new date.

In his message, Lil Wayne wrote, “My Maine fans I’m so sorry. The show is being rescheduled to July 28. Please hold on to your tickets, they will be honored for the rescheduled date. More information will be emailed directly to ticket holders.”

He also thanked fans for their patience and support, adding, “I ain’t s**t without you. I can’t wait to come back and give you the show you deserve.”

The rescheduled performance gives fans another opportunity to attend the concert later this month without needing to purchase new tickets. Organisers are expected to share additional details directly with those who had already booked seats for the original event.

Despite missing the opening concert, Lil Wayne’s tour schedule currently remains unchanged for the next stop. As of now, he is still expected to perform on 2 July in Saratoga Springs, New York, as part of the 20 Years of Carter Classics Tour.

The missed performance has generated discussion among fans online, many of whom expressed disappointment over the unexpected cancellation while also appreciating the rapper’s public apology and confirmation of a new concert date.
