Amazon Prime Video has officially announced the release date for the Indian sister-series to Citadel, titled Citadel: Honey Bunny. This new addition to the Citadel universe stars Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu as lead spies and is directed by Raj and DK. The series is set to premiere on November 7, 2024.
A new teaser for the series was unveiled at a special event in Mumbai. The teaser features snippets of high-octane action scenes with Varun and Samantha wielding guns, rescuing children, and taking down villains, all set to a modernized version of the classic song “Raat Baaki.” The distinctive blue tint, a hallmark of Raj and DK’s visual style, is prominently featured.

Citadel: Honey Bunny promises a mix of gritty, fast-paced action and compelling drama, with exceptional performances from the cast. It is executive-produced by the Russo Brothers, famous for their work on the Avengers films.
The original Citadel series, which stars Richard Madden, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Stanley Tucci, and Lesley Manville, premiered in 2023 and quickly became one of Prime Video’s most-watched new original series. The franchise, produced by the Russo Brothers’ AGBO, explores the story of the spy agency Citadel and its enemy syndicate, Manticore. Each series within the Citadel universe features local talent and is created, produced, and filmed in different regions, ensuring each show has a unique cultural identity.
Following the Italian original Citadel: Diana, which debuts on October 10, 2024, Citadel: Honey Bunny will continue expanding the Citadel universe. Production for the second season of the original Citadel series, starring Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, is also set to begin this year, with Joe Russo directing.
