Netflix is gearing up to bring a thrilling mix of action and comedy with its upcoming Korean film Officer Black Belt, set to premiere on September 13. The film promises to deliver high-octane martial arts action intertwined with comedic elements, making it a must-watch for fans of both genres.

The newly released teaser introduces us to the protagonist, Lee Jung-do, played by Kim Woo-bin. Jung-do is a young man with exceptional martial arts prowess, holding third-degree black belts in Taekwondo, Judo, and Kendo, amounting to a ninth-degree black belt in total. His skills lead him to a new career as a martial arts officer, where he is tasked with monitoring criminals and aiding in crime prevention.

Jung-do is paired with probation officer Kim Sun-min, who is responsible for supervising criminals under probation with electronic ankle monitors. Recognizing Jung-do’s potential, Sun-min recruits him to assist in the demanding work of managing these individuals. Despite his playful and light-hearted nature, Jung-do is deeply committed to his role, driven by a desire to protect ordinary citizens from harm.

The teaser showcases Kim Woo-bin in action, highlighting his character’s ability to swiftly and effectively subdue criminals, a portrayal that has fans eagerly anticipating the film’s release. The official synopsis describes Jung-do as an “indefinite contractor at the Ministry of Justice” who works closely with probation officers to manage and respond to emergencies involving those under electronic monitoring.

Beyond the action-packed storyline, Officer Black Belt also made headlines for a heartwarming gesture shared between stars. In December 2023, photos of a coffee cart sent to the film’s set went viral. The cart was a gift from actress Shin Min Ah to her boyfriend, Kim Woo-bin, showing support for him and the film’s cast and crew. The cart was adorned with messages expressing gratitude to everyone involved in the production, adding a personal touch to the film’s journey.

With its unique blend of martial arts action and comedy, Officer Black Belt is set to be an exciting addition to Netflix’s lineup, offering viewers an entertaining ride filled with humor, heart, and high-energy fight sequences.
