Netflix has released the final trailer for Outer Banks Season 5, giving fans a fresh look at the Pogues as they prepare for the final chapter of the popular series. The new season will continue after the emotional events of Season 4 and will focus on the group’s attempt to deal with the loss of JJ while going after Groff and the stolen Blue Crown.
The trailer features several action packed moments, including motorcycle chases, dangerous storms at sea and boat explosions. The Pogues are shown facing new challenges as they get closer to Groff and try to recover the Blue Crown. The final season appears to move away from simply searching for treasure and puts more focus on revenge and settling the score.
One of the earlier trailers showed Kiara struggling with JJ’s death while looking into the mystery surrounding the Blue Crown. According to the story, the crown is connected to a legend that claims it may have the power to bring the dead back to life.
The official synopsis reads, “Season 5 finds the Pogues at their absolute breaking point following the tragic loss of JJ (Rudy Pankow) in Morocco. Stranded far from home and mourning the heart of their crew, they’ve lost the Blue Crown and continue to face a gauntlet of familiar threats.”
Season 4 ended with a major tragedy. During the Pogues’ mission in Morocco, Chandler Groff betrayed the group and fatally stabbed JJ while trying to save Kiara. Groff then escaped with the Blue Crown. JJ died in Kiara’s arms as the rest of the group watched helplessly.
With JJ gone and the treasure lost, the Pogues enter the final season facing their most difficult situation yet. They are now determined to take back the Blue Crown, confront Groff and fight for the future they have always wanted.
Season 5 brings back Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, Drew Starkey, Carlacia Grant, Austin North, Fiona Palomo, J. Anthony Crane and Cullen Moss.
All ten episodes of Outer Banks Season 5 will be released exclusively on Netflix on August 20, 2026. The season will serve as the final chapter of the story and will bring the Pogues’ journey to an end.
