Filmmaker Priyadarshan recently spoke about his film Bhool Bhulaiyaa and shared an interesting memory related to one of its most popular songs, “Mere Dholna”. In a conversation, he talked about how Vidya Balan prepared for the song despite doubts about her dancing skills.

Priyadarshan said that there was a time when people believed Vidya could not dance well. He also mentioned that choreographer Farah Khan had once told her the same. Despite that, she managed to match his energy in the performance. Priyadarshan recalled, “She matched his energy. And one day, Vidya came and told me, ‘I will never forget this song in my life because someone who once told me I cannot dance, Farah Khan, has appreciated me for it.’ And Shobhana was also called and praised. She said, ‘I will never be able to repeat it, but this is the best thing you have done for me.’ So this is something I remember very well.”

A controversy has started around the film Dhurandhar: The Revenge after a Sikh organisation filed a police complaint in Mumbai. The complaint is against the film’s makers and actor Ranveer Singh. The group, calling itself Sikhs in Maharashtra, submitted the complaint at Mulund police station on March 17. They claim that a promotional poster from the film has hurt their religious sentiments.

According to police officials, no FIR has been registered yet and the matter is still being looked into. The issue is mainly about how Ranveer Singh is shown in the poster. In the image, he is wearing Sikh religious symbols like a turban, a long beard, and a kada. These are considered very important and sacred in Sikhism. However, the problem raised by the group is that the actor is also shown holding a cigarette in the same poster. They believe this is disrespectful and does not show the Sikh identity in the right way.

The complaint has also asked for action against the film’s director Aditya Dhar, along with the producers and the lead actor. So far, the makers of the film have not given any official response to the issue.
