Shweta Tripathi, famous for her role as Golu in Mirzapur, is making waves with her insights into the upcoming Mirzapur: The Film. The actress recently shared significant updates about the film, revealing that it will have a more “testosterone-heavy” vibe, reflecting the male-dominated world of the series. In an interview with Mid Day, she elaborated on the nature of the film, confirming that it would stay true to the series’ essence but with a stronger emphasis on the masculine energy that drives the plot.

The film will also bring back characters from the first season, including Compounder and Munna, which will likely excite fans of the show. Shweta, who has become synonymous with Golu, expressed her gratitude for the love her character has received, especially from young women who admire Golu’s strength and resilience despite her contrasting appearance. It’s particularly heartwarming for Shweta when fans—often dressed in makeup and stockings express admiration for her character, whose journey is marked by grit rather than glamour.

Proud of Mirzapur being the first OTT series adapted into a film, Tripathi acknowledged the responsibility that comes with such recognition. She highlighted her unconventional path to success, choosing OTT platforms over mainstream commercial cinema, and stressed that it’s important to stay true to one’s purpose and passion rather than chasing fame or money. In her opinion, pursuing your dreams is difficult but ultimately more fulfilling than just working for the sake of it.
