Shah Rukh Khan’s Diwali party at his legendary Mumbai bungalow, Mannat, has been the center of Bollywood’s festive season for years. Shah Rukh Khan’s Diwali party has grown fewer in number after the COVID-19 pandemic. What used to be an annual ritual loaded with glamour and festivity has moved on to the backburner in recent times. The cause is not merely caution but also practicality — Mannat is already in the midst of major renovations, and so SRK and his family have shifted to another residence temporarily.

There was speculation that the actor might host the party at his temporary home, which also happens to be producer Jackky Bhagnani’s residence. But putting the rumours to rest, Shah Rukh’s manager, Pooja Dadlani, confirmed to HT City that he will not be hosting a Diwali party this year either. This is the second consecutive year that the festival of lights will be celebrated quietly in the Khan household.

The work done at Mannat is reported to be extensive, intended to improve the already breathtaking property. Due to the extent of the work, though, the traditional opulence of the Diwali celebrations will have to be postponed.

Interestingly, SRK is not the sole Bollywood actor boycotting celebrations this year. Actor Ayushmann Khurrana and his wife Tahira Kashyap Khurrana, also known for hosting a classy Diwali bash, have chosen to skip their bash in 2025. The couple reportedly decided this after Ayushmann immersed himself in his upcoming release Thamma, which is his first big Diwali release, leaving them with not much time to plan a party.

With two of Bollywood’s most highly anticipated Diwali parties off the schedule, the festival is likely to be a less public affair in the industry this year.
